1950s fabrics

Apart from a few exceptions my 50s fabrics are in a heavy, soft, textured cotton weave known as barkcloth. The weight makes it best for cushion covers although it can also be used for bags and purses as long as they're not too small. Their age means it's best not to wash them too often and to
do so gently by hand. Specialist dry clean is also an option.
